Diploma in Nursing

KLE Institute of Nursing sciences, Ankola (UK), established in 2003. Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery is recognized by Karnataka Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council. The institute aims at educating intellectually tolerant, morally upright, spiritually inspired, emotionally balanced, and socially committed nurses.

Eligibility

  • Must have passed 10+2 Pre University or equivalent with English as an optional subject. (Preference will be given to science candidates).
  • A candidates should have passed 10+2 class preferably Science (PCB) & English with aggregate of 40% marks
  • A candidates should have passed 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
  • Minimum & maximum age for admission will be 17 years & 35 years respectively.
  • Candidate must be able to speak, read and write English well.

Admission Procedure

  • Forms will be available in the college office from 1st May onwards or can be downloaded from our website.
  • Candidate should apply by filling the application form for Rs. 250/- (GNM) either by cash payment or DD in favour of Principal KLES Institute of nursing sciences Ankola, payable at Ankola.
  • Documents required during the time of admissions are as follows:

    • Original Marks Cards of S.S.L.C/X,II PUC/XII, & Transfer/L.C Certificate.
    • Migration Certificate for outside Karnataka students.
    • Character Certificate from the previous institution.
    • Four copies of Passport size Photographs.

Examination

  • Students shall have board examination at the end of each year. Minimum pass marks shall be 50% in each of the theory and practical separately.
  • Class tests will be conducted periodically to evaluate the student's performance in each subject. The average marks will be sent to the board as internal assessment, for both theory and practical.
  • A model exam will be conducted before the board examination.
  • Carry over system : The benefit of carry over system is extended to the students of Diploma Nursing course. The candidates shall pass all the subjects of first year and second year before appearing for third year examinations.
